Gravitational lensing

Research fellowship at the University of San Francisco in collaboration with Light Bridges, focused on gravitational lensing.

Main responsibilities:

• Multi-epoch photometric follow-up of gravitationally lensed quasars with the Two-meter Twin Telescope facility (Tenerife).
• Time-delay-sensitive modeling with the GIGA-Lens code under Prof. Xiaosheng Huang.
• Collaboration in outreach and educational programs with the Canary Global Foundation.

After finishing my Master’s Degree I was awarded an ICEX Vives Fellowship by the Spanish Government that has granted me the opportunity to travel to California and work at the University of San Francisco (USF) in collaboration with Light Bridges and their Two-meter Twin Telescope (TTT) facility in the Observatorio del Teide. I have been working at USF under Professor Xiaosheng Huang since late October, where I am gaining valuable experience in the full cycle of observational campaigns, from planning to data acquisition and scientific reporting. In parallel, I am working with the GIGA-Lens code in order to model gravitationally lensed quasars to be compared later with multi-epoch photometric observations, strengthening my knowledge about machine learning and inference methods.

Additionally I am collaborating with the Canary Global Foundation in educational and outreach projects. In February 2026 I will be teaching two classes of the course “Mission Exoplanets”
